Every year the American Library Association sponsors Teen Read Week.   Below are summaries of some of the favorite books read by students at Goodyear last school year and the reasons that made these their favorites.

A Taste of Blackberries

"This book is about a young boy who has to face the death of his best friend and learn that he will always be with him in his heart.   It's my favorite because it shows feeling toward the reader, and it shows the bond between two best friends."

"This book is about four kids who are left alone in their mom's car.   They now must find someone to love them and take them in before higher authorities are involved.   It's my favorite book because it shows how, if people hold together and stay strong, things which seem impossible can happen."

In the Bottom of the Sea

"This book is about deep sea creatures and about shipwrecks from a long time ago.   It's my favorite because I learned about the Titanic and what had happened to it.   I also learned about fishes you never heard of.   You even learn about the coelacanth, a fish we thought was extinct."
