Goodyear Middle School's Site Improvement Plan focuses on math, reading, writing, and attendance goals.   We have developed a schedule that will provide a "double dosing" in math and language arts, and are providing teachers with time for professional development within the course of their workday.

Akron Public Schools obtained a grant that brought the "100 Book Challenge" into the middle school beginning the 2004-05 school year.   This is a nation-wide program that is used to help struggling readers.   It is our goal at Goodyear to create a culture of readers, and through many building-wide activites we hope to meet our goals.
